The crazy little SEAT Ibiza CUPRA has been Ireland’s best value hot hatch for the past number of years and this looks set to continue as the all-new Ibiza CUPRA has been teased by SEAT ahead of its reveal at the forthcoming Frankfurt Motor Show and the new car retains the muscular stance of its predecessor and boasts 17” alloy wheels, bi-xenon headlights with daytime running lights, black door mirrors, a matt-black diffuser and a trapezoidal tailpipe.
Power boost to 192 PS
Under the bonnet, the new car sees its power boosted to 192 PS from 180 PS compared to its predecessor thanks to a 1.8-litre TSI engine and a boost in torque from 250Nm to 320Nm, meaning 0-100km/h arrives in just 6.7 seconds and there is a top speed potential of 235 km/h.
There’s a lot going on with the Ibiza Cupra and I’m looking forward to a spin in it when it get’s over to Ireland.
Prices and on-sale dates for the new Ibiza CUPRA have yet to be finalised but should be less than €24,000 when the car goes on sale in early 2016.
