Volvo Car Corporation launches V40 Cross Country

Volvo are really backing the new V40 design, they are bringing out a cross country version that’s meant to be like the old V70 Cross country.
As you can see from the picture it’s going to be very pretty but also capable, you can expect that the V40 CC will be able to drive over a muddy field or down your local rough lane with ease.

We are fans of the current V40, it’s a very clever car that mixes shopping and motorway driving with ease, there’s even a clever boot. However, we do hope that Volvo won’t dilute the V40 too much with different models because there’s an R-Design model being launched at the same time.

Either way, this is offering a good choice for those town and country drivers who need something a little more rugged for the weekends.

Yes you read that headline right, Chris de Burgh or Christy Burgh as we know him around these parts have been let loose in Sardinia with a new Golf. His daughter Rosanna Davison (28) is also taken with the design of the new Golf: “It looks very smart and stylish”, says the model, who was recently featured on the cover of a well-known German magazine for men, and in many German and international newspapers.

The Original is back. The 21st Century Beetle arrives in Ireland

It’s here and Bob has driven it, the new Beetle has gone on sale in Ireland and the price starts at 19,995 Euro. Today’s Beetle transfers the styling of the original Beetle and the 1998 new Beetle into a sportier, more masculine era. Following the design DNA of the Volkswagen brand, the 21st Century Beetle demonstrates this through its styling lines, extended bonnet, sharply swept back windscreen and longer wheelbase.

“The 1.4TSI engine that puts out 160bhp is brilliant and the design of the exterior is just perfect” says Bob Flavin while testing the new Beetle, he’ll have a new video out about the Beetle in the next few days. Meanwhile you can pop along to your local dealer and get a test drive in the new Beetle, will it take just 3 seconds for you to fall in love?

Citroen C-Zero is first production electric car to go around the world

The Electric Odyssey has completed an eight month drive around the world covering 25,000 km and using as little as €250 in electricity to do it. The mammoth task was under-taken by engineers Xavier Degon and Antonin Guy to help change the image and show the public that electric powered vehicles can be used for much more than just menial tasks.

The drive which took in countries including Europe, North America, Japan, China and Russia, showed the engineers much more than just the technical achievement it also showed that kindness in mankind still exists, some places along the route where plug-in stations have not yet reached, people who would become known as pluggers, were happy to offer a helping socket to keep them charged.
