Abarth 500 offers more choice with two new right hand drive models and upgrades to the standard 500

If you’re a fan of the Abarth 500 and want that little extra you’ll welcome the news that two new models are now available in right hand drive. The new Abarth 595 Turismo and the Abarth 595 Competizione come with more power and style, the standard model benefits from a drop in price and upgraded equipment.

Abarth 595 Turismo

Extra equipment on the Turismo includes uprated shocks, leather upholstery, climate control, xenon headlamps and special pedals and floor mats. It’s powered by a 1.4 litre turbo charged unit which is upgraded from 135hp to 160hp, transmission is available either as manual or MTA.

Outside it benefits from 10 spoke 17 inch alloys with red brake calipers peering through, and a machined aluminium fuel cap and rear privacy glass, Outside it benefits from 10 spoke 17 inch alloys with red brake calipers peering through, and a machined aluminium fuel cap and rear privacy glass, of which I’m not a huge fan.

Abarth 595 Competizione

The Abarth 595 Competizione goes for a more sportier feel, it has the same engine and uprated suspension as the Turismo but also features cross drilled brake discs, Sabelt racing seats, a “Record Monza” exhaust and 5 spoke 17 inch alloys.

Order and Price

While these are available in right hand drive, if you want one you will have to go to the UK to get it. For the hardened fan this won’t be an issue but it could be costly.

In the UK an Abarth 595 Turismo starts at £17,725, Fiat have estimated the cost will be approximately €29,000 after taxes, but not including your air, road and boat fares.

The Abarth 595 Competizione starts at £18,725 in the UK, so again not including any travel expenses that would come in at approximately €31,000.

A standard Abarth 500 will set you back about €23,500 which is a saving of about €600 and comes with a new colour choice and upgraded standard equipment.
