Available from September this year is the all new Audi RS4 Avant, the first RS4 to be built on the new B8 platform. On the road from €102,725 the new RS4 boasts the same V8 engine found in the RS5 coupe, this 4,163cc unit puts out 450BHP at 8,250rpm, maximum torque of 430nm from 4000 to 6000rpm and propels the RS4 from 0 to 100km/h in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 250km/h, which can be increased to 280km/h if you ask them nicely.
According to released figures it’s possible to return an impressive 10.7l/100km or 25.7mpg combined, exceptional economy for a car of its pedigree.
The new RS4 Avant comes with Audi’s famous Quattro permanent all wheel drive system, controlled by advanced crown-gear centre differential, which can rapidly shift the power ratio between front and rear. This coupled with a complex chassis assembly, with many components constructed of aluminium to save weight, promises the advanced sure footedness expected from every Audi carrying the Quattro badge.
Andrew Doyle, managing director of Audi Ireland commented: A modern classic, the Audi RS 4 Avant was first introduced 12 years ago and we are delighted to announce the September arrival of the third generation. The RS4 Avant is just one of many exciting models we plan to bring to the Irish market between now and the end of the year, which we hope will delight Audi customers
The RS4 Avant is 20mm longer, 24mm wider and 20mm lower than a standard Avant. It’ll be available in eight colours, one solid and one metallic, four pearl-effect colours and two special crystal-effect colours. Panther black is available from launch and Prism silver will be available for order later in the year.
Standard equipment includes 19” RS4 style alloy wheels, S Sports seats in Leather / Alcantara finish, RS4 flat bottomed sports multifunction steering wheel, Carbon Atlas inlays, Audi drive select, park system plus, bluetooth interface, tracker preparation, anti-theft alarm, folding door mirrors and quattro with sport differential.
Important features come as standard on this latest Avant model, such as quattro with sport differential, S-Tronic transmission and FSI technology. Most importantly, it comes with the lowest fuel consumption and emission figures in its field of competitors, something which we hope will appeal to Irish motorists
