New Astra Range Is Now Complete

This is how the full range of the Astra looks now after the unveiling of the new Astra saloon due in September. This is an important segment for Opel as a third of all Opels sold are Astras with 641,000 of them across Europe.

Opel expect to be able to cater for a wide range of customers with the Astra, from the new Astra OPC which is the quickest and most powerful Astra ever doing 0 to 100km/h in just 6.0 seconds, to a five-door variant, a three door GTC coupé and the versatile Sports Tourer.
Engines range from the enhanced 1.4 litre turbocharged spark ignition unit with 103 kW/140 hp which has benefited with a boost in torque from 200 to 220 Nm, to the fuel efficient 1.7 CDTI ecoFLEX, 81 kW/110 hp and 96 kW/130 hp, with 99g/km CO2 and fuel consumption of 3.7 l/100km. And early next year expect to see a new SIDI (Spark Ignition Direct Injection) ECOTEC 1.6 turbo charged engine promising “ultra-efficient fuel consumption” with 200hp.
Also promised are some of the safety features available on other models too, including the second generation Opel Eye front camera with the enhanced traffic sign assistant (TSA II), lane departure warning (LDW), following distance indication (FDI) and forward collision alert (FCA), rear view camera, advanced park assist, side blind spot alert and a radar-based adaptive cruise control (ACC) with automatic collision imminent braking (CIB).
