The new Ford Focus arrives here next September and according to Eddie Murphy, Chairman and Managing Director of Ford Ireland, it promises to be an exciting performance car possesing all the qualities a Ford performance enthusiast has come to expect from the company. Powered by a specially developed direct-injection 2.0 litre, all alloy, turbocharged, four-cylinder EcoBoost engine with a 250PS output and returning 7.2L/100Km with CO2 of 169g/km which if figures are corerct is 20% better than its predecessor.
Eddie went on to say:
Thanks to its exhilarating performance, road-gripping dynamics and superior levels of refinement, the Focus ST is a performance car that is ideal for everyday driving
The arrival of the car in Ireland coincides with the release of The Sweeney Movie, a remake of the classic 70’s TV show which presumably stars the Focus ST as a MK1 Granada Essex V6, which no doubt gets a good trashing by Regan and Carter, go on my son!
Prices from €35,170 – full specifications and price details for the Irish market will be issued closer to launch date.
