Production milestone: 40 million cars from Wolfsburg

A special production jubilee was celebrated recently in the Volkswagen plant in Wolfsburg. Prof. Dr. Martin Winterkorn, Chairman of the Board of Volkswagen AG, was present to watch the 40 millionth vehicle roll off the Wolfsburg production line. The anniversary vehicle on the production line was a Glacier Blue TSI Golf BlueMotion 105 hp.
“Today we have 40 million reasons to be proud of our work here on his site. The entire Wolfsburg team is critical to their performance, as is their commitment to ensuring that Volkswagen achieves its long-term growth objectives,” said Winterkorn.
Currently the Golf, Golf Plus, Touran and Tiguan are manufactured at the Wolfsburg plant. The plant has a production capacity of more than 3,800 vehicles per day.
