• Very fair review of the jeep compass. I imagined it to be crap but your review would make me look at it twice now for our fleet! I would think its residual would not be as strong as the competition.

      Hi Ian,
Thanks for the comment. The Compass is a very comfortable, decent sized workhorse with great kit and a competitive price. There would be a good position for it on hainesfleet.ie
The residual value of any car is dictated by it’s sales performance in the retail market, Fiat are on a good run at the moment with new staff and a decent product line up. That will mean more people will look at the rest of the line up Chrysler, Jeep, Alfa Romeo will rise with the Fiat brand in Ireland.
Get in touch with the lovely staff in Fiat head office and see what they can do for you.

Hi Bob, wrote to you sometime ago about the FIAT 500 Sport. At the time I had just purchased one here in America. Although I loved the car with a passion I ended up trading it in. You see here in America SUVs stampede like wild buffalo. And while the FIAT is a crafty little dodger, it’s way too small for American highway driving. After a few weeks of looking I ended up with a 2011 Compass. I’ve had it for three months now and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised. Yes, it gurgles when you hit the gas. Yes the steering wheel is so ginormous it makes large men feel petite. And hard plastic… you betcha son, wall to wall. But I adore it. I’ve always had a foreign car because they were just better, plain and simple. I am your typical American however best described as “Large”. My large rear end actually fits in the seat. No more trying to fit it into little foreign skinny jeans. My feet fit in the footwell my elbows arent pinned to my sides and the ride is comfy. It’s more SUV than crossover goes well in the snow. The CVT gets great mpg but your clothes will be out of style before you see 60mph. It’s a great buy with a decent warranty. Well see how things go down the line but so far so good.

Good to know you’re still getting on well with the cars we like. The Fiat 500 is a great car but I wouldn’t like being stuck between two tricks on a highway!
The Compass is a more sensible option but it sounds like it will suit your needs a bit better.
      Keep driving dude!
