As you can tell the Frankfurt motor show is in full flight at the moment and this just hit our inbox from Mazda Ireland. The all new CX-5 looks good and remarkably looks like the concept pictures, that’s one thing I do like about Mazda the show a drawing and then make the car.
The world premiere of the all-new Mazda CX-5 at Frankfurt begins a new era for the Mazda brand. The all-new compact crossover SUV is the first of a new-generation of Mazda products that will adopt the full range of unique Mazda-developed SKYACTIV Technology and the exciting new design language called ‘KODO – Soul of Motion’. It will be available in three completely new engines with record-breaking compression ratios of 14:1 – a SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel with two-stage turbocharger in two power derivatives, and a SKYACTIV-G 2.0 direct-injection petrol – coupled to the new SKYACTIV-DRIVE six-speed automatic or the new SKYACTIV-MT six-speed manual.
I do hope it’s in production sooner rather than later. Stay tuned for more interesting stuff from Frankfurt
