SEAT Links with Shamrock Rovers to provide the official Mascots for the UEFA Europa League Final

Word that SEAT, in association with Shamrock Rovers FC, are to provide official mascots for the UEFA Europa League Final has just hit The Next Gear news desk. The match, the biggest ever seen on Irish shores, is taking place this coming Wednesday at the “Dublin Arena” (UEFA rules prohibit the use of unaffiliated commercial names – it’s the Aviva Stadium) and sees Portuguese heavyweights, FC Porto and SC Braga fight it out for the prize.

Hoops midfielder Stephen Rice is not only a SEAT Leon owner himself but also a Seat brand ambassador and he was on hand with Nadia Forde this morning for a photocall at Rovers Tallaght Stadium. The union will see 22 children from Shamrock Rovers the once in a lifetime opportunity to accompany the teams onto the field.

On hearing the news that Shamrock Rovers will provide the team mascots Stephen said “I’m delighted for our junior squad. The chance to walk out on the pitch for such an important occasion is a fantastic experience. For most kids it would be a once in a lifetime experience and I think it will be something that will stay with these children for a very long time.”

Speaking about the sponsorship, Lorenzo Heller, Director of SEAT Ireland said “SEAT is a huge supporter of soccer on a global scale, so it is fitting that we are the title sponsors of the biggest soccer match ever to take place in Ireland, The UEFA Europa League Final. We are excited to support such an event and delighted that we could give this opportunity to 22 young Irish children.”
