I had the great privilege of attending the IMWA Car of the year awards yesterday. It was held in the Conference centre along the docks of Dublin, I have to say it is one of Ireland’s most fantastic buildings and a brilliant resource.
It was a great event and a very important one in the calendar of the Irish car industry; it’s a bit like the Oscars for cars.
The winners are as follows:
Small car of the year: Nissan Juke
Compact Car of the year: Skoda Yeti
Family car of the year: Peugeot 5008
Executive/Luxury car of the year: BMW 5 Series
Performance car of the year: Peugeot RCZ
The overall winner of car of the year goes to the Nissan Juke
Irish van of the year went to the Mercedes Vito
While there I was struck by a video that was played during the show, so struck I’ve put it on this page. Just think what Irish has achieved in spite of the clique that currently holds office, so just imagine what the Irish have yet to do for this world when they’re not in office in the coming months.
It’s only 3 minutes long, turn up the sound and read what your country is capable of, oh and spread the word.
